In June of 2010, I was driving through eastern Washington (note: east of Seattle) and noticed something very peculiar on the sidewalk. As I approached the object I knew it was something worth capturing with a photo.

I pulled over, exited my vehicle, and approached the object. Permission was granted to photograph the scene so I did... and posted it on the internet for public consumption :)

Recently, I've been playing PopCap's newest "action-strategy" game entitled Plants vs. Zombies. The premise is simple: thwart the onslaught of zombies with the plants of your choosing. I know what you're thinking... "How could the undead possibly battle organisms of the vegetable kingdom?!" Well, check the link for more details - the game is pretty darn fun but this post isn't about Plants vs. Zombies. The game did inspire me though. I decided to crank up Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop me a zombie of my own. I present to you... my one hour zombie:

Funniest Reaction Ever

So, ok... I was browsing YouTube once again because I saw a clip on TV that I had find and share. This guy on American Idol wins an award for the best impersonation of (the original) Clay Aiken. The guy is allowed to do a solo of one of Clay's performances, but this is on live TV, ok? In mid-performance, Clay sneaks up behind him and the crowd starts to go nuts. At this point, the impersonator still thinks they are cheering for him - then... BAM! The impersonator sees and meets him (and his new dye job) for the first time and whigs out. Check it out.

Neat Looking PC Game

As some people may know, Intel is releasing quad-core CPUs shortly, check out what they're capable of computing! Alan Wake. The game is will be released for XBOX360 and Playstation 3, but the graphics and physics will be toned down, I'd imagine.

Random Video Findings

While looking at YouTube's most-viewed videos for the month, I came across two that I'd like to share.

The first one is of a guy who took a photograph of himself everyday for six years and made a video from them. The photos are shown in rapid sequence to some nice piano music - you can see how the guy ages over the course of six years. It's pretty neat idea, I think. Check it out.

The second link seems to be some sort of demo or advertisement for a new technology developed by Philips. Basically, the technology gives garments the ability to emit light however one desires. The only problem, in my opinion, is that the array of LEDs used to emit the light isn't too densely packed. This means the display is at a low resolution, which limits detail. Let me counter my own complaint with the fact that many garments probably tend to soften whatever light is shown through it. This is going to remove details, defeating whatever high resolution is used. So, basically, yea - I can't complain, 'cause I've defeated my own argument, I guess. Perhaps the density of the LEDs should be chosen depending on the garment? This would surely increase cost, but with increased detail there would be increased attention which may be beneficial, depending on the context of use. Ok, ok, no more digression. I've read articles about the technology in the past, but I'm sure most people would prefer to see it in action rather than read about it. Check it out.

Wookie + A Razor = ?

Let's talk about Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookie, which means he has got a lot of hair, as many may know. Earlier today, via my away message, I asked what people think a Wookie (specifically Chewbacca) might look like if it have the opportunity to get a good shave. I believe that my friend Ryan has stumbled upon a miraculous discovery: Ron Perlman. Let's now compare and contrast Chewbacca and Mr. Ron Perlman:

If Chewie only got a slick pair of shades and pair of hedge clippers, I'd say we'd have a match here, people. But, let us be fair to Chewie and consider the opposite situation. What if Mr. Perlman suddenly developed a wicked case of Hypertrichosis? Check out the image below.

This poor fellow is one of very few people that have a very rare genetic disorder called Hypertrichonosis, check out the ABC interview if you're interested. Anyways, if Mr. Perlman suddenly developed this problem... I'd say we would have a pretty decent Semi-Wookie!

Whether Chewbacca looks like a hairy Ron Perlman or whether Ron Perlman looks like a shaven Wookie... I don't know. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? I don't know! All I do know is that Ryan discovered something grand, and I had to share his findings along with my analysis. I hope I haven't ruined Chewbacca for anyone out there, I don't want anyone thinking of stupid Rod Perlman during their favorite Star Wars Chewbacca moment. If anyone finds any other Shaven Wookie-Look-Alikes, please let me know or post a comment.

I just realized that the beta version of Blogger than I'm using has all kinds of interesting additions. While playing around with the template options, I decided to change the description of my blog to a quote from the movie Kung Pow. Maybe you find it funny, maybe it you think its stupid - either way, its a classic with a very particular sense of humor. Upon choosing the quote that I did, I found another that I'd like to share.

Look what we've got here...

Specially bred cats that lack "glycoprotein Fel d1" (something that causes allergic reactions) for only $3,950! This means that for less than $4,000 I can have my very own emotionally-detached, selfish, bi-polar, razor-clawed kitty-cat without the near-death experience. As some of you may know, I am quite allergic to cats. Me and cats... we don't mingle too well - allergies or no allergies. Sooo, I'm cool with spending the four grand on something a little more bad-ass... but, for $950 less. Like what you ask? Oh, how about a Kawasaki Bayou 250?!
